Every sensation has a story. Every pattern has a relationship.
Our bodies are constantly communicating with us through sensation, movement, tension, and ease. Sometimes discomfort is located exactly where the body needs attention. Other times, the source of a pattern may be connected to another part of the body through movement, posture, protective responses, or the nervous system.
Point / Counterpoint is a guided somatic exploration that uses body mapping, mindful positioning, gentle movement, breath, and awareness to investigate these relationships. Rather than forcing change, we'll learn to observe how different areas of the body communicate with one another and how creating balance can support greater ease, organization, and nervous system regulation.
Throughout the class, you'll be invited to identify an area of tension, discomfort, or emotional significance—the Point—and then explore the body's naturally balancing relationship through a corresponding Counterpoint. By introducing awareness, breath, and intentional movement between these areas, participants begin to experience the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated parts.
The practice also introduces the concept of a Balance Point—a central place of support and integration that encourages communication between the left and right sides of the body while fostering greater whole-body awareness.
This is not about correcting the body.
It's about listening.
It's about discovering new possibilities.
And allowing the nervous system to reorganize through awareness rather than force.
No previous experience is necessary.
All bodies are welcome.
