Memory Recall

Reconnecting with the Stories Your Body Remembers

Our minds don't remember every experience—but our bodies often do.

Research in neuroscience suggests that emotionally significant experiences can create lasting neural pathways, influencing how we move, respond to stress, perceive safety, and interact with the world. The body and brain work together to encode memories, particularly those associated with strong emotion, creating patterns that can persist long after the original experience has passed.

Memory Recall is a gentle somatic movement experience that explores the connection between memory, movement, and the nervous system. Through mindful breath, intentional movement, body awareness, and guided reflection, you'll be invited to notice how your body responds, where tension may be held, and how increasing awareness can support greater ease and integration.

Rather than trying to "fix" or relive the past, this class offers an opportunity to become curious about the body's wisdom and the patterns it has developed over time. As you move through progressive somatic sequences, you'll explore how posture, breath, and movement can influence the nervous system and create new possibilities for connection.

Drawing on current research in memory encoding, emotional learning, and neuroplasticity, this class recognizes that experiences can shape the way our nervous system responds—but it also highlights the brain's remarkable ability to adapt and form new patterns throughout life.

In this class you may explore:

  • How emotions influence memory and movement
  • The connection between the brain, body, and nervous system
  • Somatic movement to increase body awareness
  • Breath practices that support nervous system regulation
  • Gentle movement to improve mobility and coordination
  • Mindful awareness of physical sensations and habitual patterns
  • Creating new movement experiences that support resilience and integration

This class is appropriate for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the mind-body connection. No previous experience is necessary.
